KT cloud biz selects SolidFire’s all-flash scale-out storage platform to provide advanced SSD volume service to over 6,000 enterprise customers

SolidFire, the #1 Solid-State Array, today announced that Korea Telecom (KT) ucloud biz selected SolidFire’s scale-out all-flash storage for its public cloud-based solutions, called KT ucloud biz SSD volume. SolidFire’s integration with CloudStack and OpenStack, along with its ability to consolidate multiple workloads and guarantee exact levels of performance and capacity, enables KT ucloud biz to achieve the performance, security, agility, service quality and cost competitiveness it demands in order to offer the most advanced public cloud-based solutions to its customers.

KT ucloud biz provides SSD volume service offerings to its customers with IOPS-configurable, high-performance SSD volumes and guaranteed real-time, efficient processing of high-volume data. With SolidFire’s storage infrastructure, KT ucloud biz offerings provide optimized SSD volume service at an attractive price point to meet the varied demands of the 6,000 enterprises using KT cloud services today.

Also, SolidFire’s fine-grain Quality of Service (QoS) has delivered a 6X storage performance improvement per rack and enabled KT ucloud biz to guarantee performance and bandwidth for millions of users. KT ucloud biz has also experienced a 20 percent reduction in electricity costs and a 10 percent space savings in comparison to its traditional legacy storage systems.

SolidFire has gained significant traction in the Asia Pacific market this year as cloud service adoption becomes increasingly pervasive specifically in South Korea. Recent market research shows that 70 percent of South Korean enterprise organizations plan to increase their cloud service investments through 2017, with IT organizations in the region allocating over 34 percent of their IT budget to cloud services.
