KINX enhances competitiveness in public cloud services with SolidFire’s all-flash scale- out storage

SEOUL, South Korea and TOKYO, October 27, 2015

OpenStack Tokyo Booth #S12 - SolidFire, the #1 Solid-State Array, announced today that Korea Internet Neutral Exchange (KINX), a B2B company which specializes in internet infrastructure in South Korea, selected SolidFire’s all-flash scale-out storage to power its IXcloud public cloud services. KINX has been commercializing and managing IXcloud, the first Openstack-based public cloud services offering in Korea, since 2012.

“When it comes to public cloud services, it is critical that KINX continually improves the performance and reliability of its infrastructure to take advantage of the agility, scale, automation and operational efficiency of a storage architecture that can transform our data center and enable new business opportunities,” said Seungwook, Jang, Director of KINX. “We selected SolidFire because it truly is storage that enables us to deliver more competitive cloud services to our customers and deliver greater business value.”

KINX deployed SolidFire’s multi-tenant storage platform to respond to customers’ demands, effectively process massive amounts of data and provide high-performance, on-demand cloud services. The only storage architecture with the ability to guarantee performance to thousands of workloads from a single, shared infrastructure, SolidFire enables KINX IXcloud to meet stringent service level agreements and deliver predictable performance to each and every one of its customers. Because SolidFire is architected to deliver true Quality of Service (QoS), each of KINX’s IXcloud volumes can be configured with a minimum, maximum and burst IOPS and bandwidth - guaranteeing performance independently of what other demands applications or tenants are making on the system.

Another critical component of IXcloud’s implementation, SolidFire offers comprehensive OpenStack block storage integration, enabling KINX to offload a broad array of traditional manual operations, optimize infrastructure provisioning and ensure storage efficiency. Due to SolidFire’s deep integration with OpenStack and extensive automation capabilities, KINX has eliminated the challenges of day-to-day operations and automated every aspect of its storage provisioning, management, monitoring and reporting.

They are enhancing the scalability and efficiency of their services with the advanced capabilities of OpenStack and SolidFire,” Joshua Kim, SolidFire’s Country Manager, Korea, said. “Only SolidFire could meet KINX’s requirements for a world-class infrastructure built for its demanding OpenStack environment with best-in-class performance, scalability and efficiency.”
