SolidFire

Largest privately held all-flash storage company recognized for innovation and excellent product offerings

BOULDER, Colo., December 02, 2015

SolidFire, the #1 Solid-State Array, announced today that it received top honors from the Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts. SolidFire was named a silver winner for “Enterprise Product of the Year - Hardware” and a bronze winner for both “Best New Product Version of the Year” and “Most Innovative Company of the Year - Medium.” This is the second year in a row SolidFire has been recognized by the Best in Biz Awards, validating that its innovative all-flash, scale-out storage platform is a key element in enabling customers’ transition to the Next Generation Data Center.

SolidFire is built on the philosophy that storage should not be the boat anchor holding back enterprise-wide cloud deployment, but rather an enabler that accelerates the delivery of IT and brings real value to the business. This is reflected across the company’s solutions, including the highest density and lowest $/GB SolidFire SF Series node - the SF9605, and its eighth-generation Element Operating System (OS) - named Oxygen, which were recognized in the hardware and product version categories, respectively.

The SF9605 continues SolidFire’s track record of driving down the cost of all-flash arrays by providing the highest density and lowest cost node in the SolidFire portfolio. And, with the release of Oxygen, the newest version of SolidFire’s Element OS, the company introduced significant data assurance functionality that reduces operational overhead and risk with advanced data protection functionality and expanded multi-tenant security features. With its unique software-based approach to all-flash storage, SolidFire delivers the industry’s most comprehensive enterprise feature set for consolidating mixed workloads onto a single, shared infrastructure.

“We run a people-oriented business, and the Best in Biz Awards we received truly recognize the efforts made by the entire SolidFire team. To be acknowledged again this year - and across so many categories - reaffirms our position as the leader in the all-flash storage space,” said Dave Wright, CEO and founder of SolidFire. “When it comes to building and running a sustainable, innovative tech company, there is no clear-cut path to success. For us, it comes down to quick problem solving, believing in our team’s skillset and a laser focus on meeting our customers’ needs so they can, in turn, meet their business goals. Receipt of these awards is great validation of this approach.”

The fifth annual Best in Biz program in North America boasted the highest number of submissions to date. More than 600 entries were received this year, from a wide array of public and private companies of all sizes and from a variety of industries and geographic regions in the U.S. and Canada. Awards were presented in 60 categories, with winners being determined based on scoring by an independent panel of 46 judges from a number of well-known media outlets, including Bloomberg Businessweek, Computerworld, Fast Company and Forbes.

Recognition from the Best in Biz awards is just the most recent in a series of accolades for the company. SolidFire Founder and CEO Dave Wright was recently named CEO of the Year by the Colorado Technology Association, received Ernst and Young’s 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Mountain/Desert region, was named Cloud Executive of the Year by Business Intelligence Group and was recognized as a finalist in ColoradoBiz Magazine’s CEO of the Year program. Under Dave’s leadership, SolidFire was also named the winner of NetworkWorld Asia’s 2015 Information Management Awards in the Most Promising Storage Innovation category and was listed as one of The Top 25 Disrupters of 2015 by Computer Reseller News.

SolidFire currently employs over 430 people worldwide, with more than 270 employees based in its Boulder headquarters and over 150 employees located in SolidFire’s regional offices around the world. To accommodate its continued success, growth and expansion, the company plans to relocate its corporate headquarters in the Fall of 2016 to PearlWest, a new development at 1048 Pearl Street in Boulder, Colo. SolidFire currently has over 20 positions open in marketing, operations, engineering and sales. To view and apply for open positions, visit SolidFire’s Career Page.
